When it comes to picking out the best music videos of the year, there's only one man to ask. Read on for EGO's video highlights of 2014, plus don't forget his upcoming "Between Dreams" AV Tour kicks off in Townsville on Jan 10. Full dates at the bottom of this post.
Panda Bear - "Boys Latin"
Beautiful aquatic "phantasmagorical" animation by Eran Hilleli and the team.
Ten Walls - "Walking with Elephants"
Still on that ethereal aquatic tip...
Chet Faker - "Gold"
Lost Highway meets Roller Disco, most impressive is the choreographed late night skate single take. Could easily have put "Talk is Cheap" here too.
FKA Twigs - "Two Weeks"
Another single shot gem - 2014 was a good year for them - the styling and performance in this one is mesmerising. Sia's "Chandelier", Kiesza's "Hideaway" or George Maple's "Vacant Space" could easily have made the list here too.
Collarbones - "Turning"
SPOD perfectly recreating that 90s hip house aesthetic.
Dye - "She's Bad"
Basic Instinct meets David Attenborough.
Chromeo - "Old 45s"
Chromeo are style kings and they channel the roadside diner jukebox boogie vibes to a T here, cameo from Napeleon Dynamite for the cream.
Flying Lotus feat Kendrick Lamar - "Never Catch Me"
Tiga - "Bugati"
Julio Bashmore - Peppermint
This would have to be my favourite clip of the year. A mix of live stop motion and CGI, it's straight eye candy.
