Former Modular booking agent Paul Stix, has today announced his new business venture UNDR ctrl – an innovative booking, touring and events agency, representing a highly regarded mix of electronic artists from Australia and around the world.
For the past 4 years Stix has headed up Modular’s bookings under the guise of The Musique Agency, and now with electronic music taking centre stage on a global scale, UNDR ctrl represents an exciting new era for Stix, illustrated by his much sought after roster.
“Electronic music has been my biggest passion since I was a teenager” beams Stix. “Right now the scene has never been stronger. The Australian dance community is thriving internationally and UNDR ctrl will play its part in providing a solid platform for artists to develop and explore their creativity both here and abroad – via the agency and events.”
Recent additions to the UNDR ctrl roster include 17 year old sensation Just A Gent – who just scooped “Breakthrough Producer of the Year” at the Stoney Roads awards, triple j unearthed star Albert Salt – confirmed as main support on Client Liaison’s new tour, Ara Koufax aka Naysayer & Gilsun’s new underground moniker, Pelvis - purveyors of exquisite taste and emerging NSW producer Jawz, who has just announced his debut national tour. They join a more familiar cast of foundation clients including Bag Raiders, Van She, Lancelot, Wordlife and Canyons.
UNDR ctrl has already hosted a few choice events this year, notably the crate digging Strictly Vinyl parties at The Cliff Dive featuring Touch Sensitive and John Wall, and the sell-out Not Another Boat Party with Basenji and Kilter. Look out for some special event announcements throughout the week.
For those in the know, Stix also runs and co-founded Musica Copa (together with Martin Novosel from Boundary Sounds), the music industry charity 5-a-side football tournament that returns to the field later this year.
