Stev Zar weaves worlds when she performs. She defies conventional genre borders and draws inspiration from diverse musical references, creating a singular and engrossing sound environment. Her distinct percussive and bass-heavy style blends familiar sounds of house and techno with experimental electro and notes of acid and breakbeat folded into the chaos. The aim is body euphoria, her sets intend to balance playfulness and a tiny bit of chin-stroking to create a sound that deeply resonates with dancefloor champions. Her goal is to challenge her audience to move beyond genre to connect with the heart of the sound.

Currently based in Melbourne/Naarm, Stev Zar’s resume spans DJing, production, and curation. Her work has led her to perform alongside LSDXOXO, Skin On Skin, Boris, Dr. Dubplate, UNiiQU3, Eris Drew and Octa Octa, Martyn Bootyspoon, Tygapaw, Junglepussy, and the Veronicas, with notable sets at Strawberry Fields, Sun Cycle, Dekmantel Naarm, Pitch, Soft Centre Festival, Dark Mofo, Laneway, Rising Music Festival, and guest mixes on Triple J, Skylab Radio, Sydney's FBi Radio, Nomad Radio and Aotearoa's/New Zealand's Friendly Potential.

As a curator she spotlights artists in so-called Australia’s QTBIPOC community and crafts spaces for this community to celebrate themselves and each other. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts (Music Industry) at RMIT, hoping to use her degree to continue championing marginalized voices in the industry.
