THE ASTON SHUFFLE

The Aston Shuffle is DJ, producer, radio presenter, and Only 100s host Vance Musgrove. Born out of the clubs of Australia’s capital city of Canberra and now based in Los Angeles, The Aston Shuffle is a name known and respected around the globe for his impeccable music production, skillful DJ sets, and a proven ear for rising talent and future dance floor classics. But even with a career that has seen him amass over 175 million streams, be named one of the 50 Greatest Australian Electronic Acts of All Time by Rolling Stone, play venues and festivals all over the world, reach #1 on Beatport, host triple j’s Friday Night Shuffle, release a certified gold-selling record, and remix some of the biggest names in dance music, The Aston Shuffle’s impact continues to grow not only as an artist and DJ, but also as a producer, songwriter, and engineer.

In just the past 12 months, The Aston Shuffle has been credited on songs alongside a variety of celebrated names including several Grammy Award winners and nominees. His single “Hold On To Me” was written with Daniel Nigro (Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo, Caroline Polachek), he was a co-writer and co-producer alongside Styalz Fuego (Troye Sivan, Tate McRae, The Temper Trap) on “How Long” by Elderbrook, and he contributed to The Magician’s rework of Inner City’s “Big Fun”, and also “Forever” by Kid Cudi and Dom Dolla.

The Aston Shuffle artist project continues to resonate with both tastemaker and mainstream audiences and artists, with his releases of the past few years alone being played at clubs and festival stages by the likes of Patrick Topping, Diplo, Korolova, Dom Dolla, A-Trak, Tini Gessler, Claptone, and Hayden James, and rising to the top of charts, like his edit of Steve Lacy’s “Static” which reached #1 on the most played chart on Diplo’s SiriusXM radio station, Diplo’s Revolution. His releases have also landed on respected labels like Sam Divine’s Defected Records imprint DVINE Sounds, and seen him collaborate with scene favourites such as The Magician and Chambray.

As an expert in the studio with a knack for injecting musicality into any style of track, The Aston Shuffle’s high quality output has also led him to become an in-demand remixer for artists such as Dom Dolla, Chris Lake, Empire of the Sun, PNAU, J. Worra, Green Velvet, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, and Labrinth, Sia & Diplo’s LSD project.

Equally proficient in the DJ booth, The Aston Shuffle’s deep knowledge of dance music and his precision mixing, which he has honed since first taking up DJing at age 13, have taken him all over the world, performing at Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium, Hï Ibiza, Field Day Sydney, Egg London, Nitsa Barcelona, Defected Broadcasting House in London, Exchange LA, and Output, Avant Gardner, and Elsewhere in Brooklyn, as well as multiple headline and festival tours around Australia. Even prior to launching The Aston Shuffle, Vance had made a name for himself as a DJ, and was asked to open for the legendary Sasha while still only a teenager.

On top of his touring and studio activity, for over 10 years The Aston Shuffle also hosted the Friday Night Shuffle on renowned Australian radio station triple j. The Aston Shuffle selected, mixed, and presented 3 hours of new dance releases each week, and championed artists such as Flume, salute, Ninajirachi, RÜFÜS DU SOL, Logic1000, Fisher, John Summit, Shermanology, and many more, from the early stages of their careers. With his ear for picking dance music’s next big thing, in 2016 The Aston Shuffle launched the monthly one-hour mix series Only 100s to focus purely on the standout tracks of each month. These mixes have accumulated over a million streams, and become the go-to destination for thousands of fans to find their new favourite dance tracks every month.

With The Aston Shuffle’s creativity, output, and plans reaching new heights, despite having already achieved so much, in many ways The Aston Shuffle is just getting started.
